As studios drop the PS4 and Xbox One in favor of the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, it’s going to take even more work to port games to the Switch. Unfortunately, the Switch is getting increasingly long in the tooth. Seeing as the PC version isn’t up to par for many, we doubt the company would put forth more effort the bring the game to another platform. Square Enix would have to spend an enormous effort to optimize it. The handheld’s hardware just isn’t up to the task of running it. There’s little to no chance of FF7 Remake getting a Switch release date.
